This position provides support for the Cultural Arts Center in Takoma Park Maryland. The Theatre Arts Generalist – Assistant 2 will assist Department Managers and Lead Technicians with functions that support the delivery of support for college departments, direct operations and programs for the public.
The Generalist – Assistant will receive on the job training with a 360-degree hands on experience in Venue Operation. The hired person has a flexible schedule, the hours will vary depending on the semester, typically between nights and weekends, with some standard business hours as well. This is a temporary position, renewable every six months as long as there is a need and continued fit with the organization.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist with Production and Stage Management
- Assist with House and Box Office Management
- Assist with Venue Safety and Security
- Assist with Audio Engineering
- Assist with Lighting Design and Operation
- Assist with Video Operation and Capture
- Assist with Rental and Event Front-facing Management
Required Qualifications include:
- Education can be acquired through home studies, special courses or in ways other than the usual academic process. The level required, however, should be expressed in terms of years of academic study and degree in order to provide a uniform basis for analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree but may be combined in total and/or part with the three years of experience.
- Experience with Venue Systems.
Salary Range: $23 per hour
For degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.
