Job Description
Schedule: Monday - Friday, Day ShiftThe therapist leads the collaboration among an interdisciplinary team to develop, coordinate, and facilitate all direct social services interventions to patients assigned to their caseload and their support systems. The therapist utilizes empirically supported therapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), or family therapy, to aid in the stabilization and recovery of individuals with mental and behavioral health concerns. The therapist creates a safe and supportive environment where patients gain insight into the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and work towards achieving their goals. The therapist 2 provides training, supervision, guidance, and support to less experienced therapists and student interns, helping them develop their clinical skills and knowledge. Therapist may be responsible for other duties as directed by their manager/clinical operations supervisor to support direct patient care as well as system initiatives. The Therapist will work in an acute care setting that includes inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and/or intensive outpatient services.Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate strong interdisciplinary approach and collaboration among departments.
- Communicate assertively and accurately.
- Receive feedback in a productive manner to further personal & professional development.
- This may include, but is not limited to, participating in new staff interviews, being primary preceptor for new therapists, providing education to new Mental Health Technicians (MHTs), Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs), Behavior Specialists (BSs), Case Managers (CMs) and Registered Nurses (RNs), and participating in introductory evaluations.
- This may include, but is not limited to, facilitating lunch and learns for all disciplines, facilitate compassion resilience trainings, and ensure therapy staff are attending shift change to provide disciplines with staff updates.
- This may include, but is not limited to, supervising master's level interns, providing supervision for MHTs, RNs, BS's, BHTs, or level 1 therapists as assigned, and complete peer fidelity monitoring in the form of documentation audits and direct clinical observations.
Additional Job Description:
Education/Training Requirements:Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field, from an accredited school of Social Work, Professional Counseling, or Family Therapy with a minimum of two (2) years' experience in health care and at least two (2) years in a psychiatric setting, preferred.
Cross-train in minimum two (2) other programs and/or levels of care.
Full, independent licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent in state practicing, i.e. LPCC, LMHC.
If working in a program requiring substance use credentialing, a SAC-IT, SAC, or CSAC is preferred in Wisconsin. A substance use specialty authorization applicable to the state hired in is required.
Working knowledge of therapeutic intervention and techniques for all age groups, as well as the dynamics of human growth and behavior.
Compliance with Residential Care Center (RCC) and Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) (Required for Residential Inpatient programs, preferred for all levels of care).
American Heart Association CPR certification within thirty (30) days of hire. Bi-annual re-certification is required.
Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) within sixty (60) days of hire/transfer. Annual re-certification is required.
Attend all mandatory in-services and other in-services relevant to the position.
Be responsible for all educational requirements and related obligations pertaining to the license of the program/unit license regulatory requirements governing the program(s).
For Residential programs - Must hold a current and active driver's license and be in good standing (preferred for all levels of care).
Pay Transparency Requirements:
Compensation for this role is between $97,760.00 and $131,372.80 for Therapist 2. This location is operated under a collective bargaining agreement which will determine placement in the wage scale - all external hires will begin at the starting wage, while all internal hires' wages will align to their years of service.
