Essential Job Duties
The Upward Bound Program is an early intervention pre-college preparatory program funded by the US Department of Education and is sponsored locally by North Carolina State University. Upward Bound seeks to identify and select high school students with a 2.5 GPA or higher who have academic potential to succeed in college.
- Instruct high school students in common core curriculum
- Prepare lesson plan format for each scheduled Saturday Academy enrichment class session
- Submit time sheets, class rolls, student evaluations and lesson plan format at the end of the Saturday Academic session
- Report to and collaborate with the Academic Coordinator
- Assist with Saturday Academy business meetings
- Maintain a safe environment for all students
- Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits including meeting required deadlines, attending staff meetings as scheduled, and implementing instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
- Other duties as assigned that aid in the overall service delivery model for the Upward Bound Program.
