Job Summary |
The Success Coach provides targeted support to students by facilitating internship placements and offering personalized education and career coaching. This role is pivotal in guiding students through the process of securing internships, providing mentorship, and developing their professional skills. This a 100% grant-funded position through the Texas Talent Connection grant.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Internship Placement Coordination: 1) Facilitates the matching process between students and potential employers, ensuring a good fit based on skills, interests, and professional aspirations. 2) Provides ongoing support to students during the internship application process, including helping with application materials, preparing for interviews, and following up with employers.
- Monitoring and Reporting Student Progress: 1) Conducts intake of new grant participants. 2) Keeps detailed records of student engagements, progress in securing internships, and performance during their internships. 3) Reports on internship outcomes and student feedback to program administrators and stakeholders to inform program improvements. 4) Regularly reviews and assesses student progress to provide targeted support and interventions when necessary.
- Coaching: 1) Utilizes assessments and coaching tools to help students identify their strengths and areas for improvement, enhancing their employability skills. 2) Coach students using the NCTC coaching model from initial contact through completion, including both educational and career goals.
- Assist Division Chair and Workforce Development Manager with developing, implementing, and reporting on grant initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based on the needs of the department and the institution.

Required Education |
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution

Required Skills & Abilities |
- Understanding of coaching practices and methodologies for education and employment goals.
- Knowledge of current trends in the IT job market and the skills required for various roles.
- Awareness of effective methods for developing professional skills in interns.
- Knowledge of methods to assess student progress and program effectiveness.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with students, understanding their needs and challenges.
- Proficiency in guiding students through the process of securing and succeeding in internships.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects, keeping detailed records of student progress and internship placements. High attention to detail in tracking student progress, internship details, and communication logs to ensure accurate and effective follow-up.
- Skill in identifying challenges and barriers faced by students and devising effective solutions.

Required Experience |
One (1) year of experience in administrative management, student support services, or related field.
