Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
The postdoctoral fellow will conduct research on polymer chemistry under the general supervision of thePrincipal Investigator (PI). The duties of the position are to: (1) perform organic and polymer
synthesis; (2) conduct measurements and analyze data; (3) prepare written progress reports
and manuscripts related to research; (4) interact and coordinate efforts with students in the
research group.

Required Education and Experience
Requires a Doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in area of specialty.

Preferred Qualifications
The candidate must have a Ph.D. in organic chemistry or a related field by the start date of employment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Expertise in organic and polymer synthesis, chromatography, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy in a research laboratory. Oral and written communication skills to work in a collaborative research environment. Document evidence of publications in related fields.

Carry out the synthesis of organic compounds and polymers that have important applications in materials science and biology. The candidate will use established and innovative laboratory techniques to advance research projects, develop new materials, and achieve the lab’s goals.
