Job Summary

The Benefits & Leave Manager will administer and communicate the company's global benefit programs; direct and plan the day-to-day operations of group health and retirement benefits programs; plan, develop, and redesign company benefits programs and analyze benefit costs; communicate and implement wellness and health education initiatives; and ensure pSemi compliance with federal and state laws. Additionally, the Benefits & Leave Manager will manage the company Leave of Absence (LOA), ergonomics, and

Worker's Compensation (WC) programs.

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

Health Benefits Administration:

  • Administers and communicates the company's benefits program regarding plan options, policy features, enrollment, and other requirements; coordinates, processes and documents all facets of health benefit transactions for new hires, life event changes, and terminations; performs plan audits; assists employees with issues and inquiries regarding their benefit plans; submits tickets using third-party benefit platform.
  • Manages the annual open enrollment process; identifies, recommends, and implements new benefits programs; examines possible plan designs and benefits cost changes.
  • Acts as primary contact for brokers, vendors, and third partner administrators; manages vendor SLAs to ensure optimal customer service for our employees; partners with brokers to research employee benefits plans and vendors to identify those that present the best value; coordinates transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums, and plan administration.
  • Develops communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package; designs and distributes materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment, and summary plan descriptions; manages benefits web page or similar platform; facilitates monthly benefits new hire orientation.
  • Manages benefit software and modules to support benefit administration; maintains current list of eligible employees; manages benefit system configuration and testing such as open enrollment user acceptance testing.
  • Performs monthly benefit reconciliations for all benefit plans; audits and approves all invoices; prepares self-bill reports; audits monthly invoices to ensure proper credits and debits; works with insurance broker and/or carriers to reconcile any billing or enrollment discrepancies.
  • Works with TPA to prepare FSA Non-Discrimination Testing; ensures HRIS is updated timely with benefits terminations to enable carrier feeds for CORBA and compliance with ERISA and other regulations
  • Ensures compliance with applicable government regulations; ensures timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.
  • Manages the Company's Wellness Committee to include monthly meeting, and annual budget communication of wellness activities and events.

Retirement Administration:

  • Administers and communicates the company's retirement programs; coordinates, processes and documents retirement transactions; performs plan audits; prepares, collects, and organizes data for actuarial assessments; reviews retirement plan participation on a regular basis and makes recommendations for improvements; coordinates periodic campaigns and educational sessions to promote retirement planning; leads and facilitates training and Q&A sessions; assists employees with issues and inquiries regarding their retirement plans; works very closely with Financial Advisor and Recordkeeper; maintains ownership of Plan Documents; submits tickets using third-party retirement platform.
  • 401(K) Fidelity: Ensures file feeds are properly set; communicates with employees on eligibility; leads and facilitates audits; completes 5500 filing; coordinates employee education sessions; completes Non-Discrimination Testing
  • Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation: Conducts annual enrollment, analyzes eligibility for participation and compares with threshold to ensure NQDC plan meets Top Hat criteria

Leave Administration:

  • Administers the Company's LOA, Worker's Compensation, ADA, and Ergonomic processes
  • Communicates the status of leaves and accommodations with management; tracks status and provides regular updates.
  • Coordinates with outside vendor(s) and monitors leave status of employees.
  • Integrates LOA programs to be compliant with state and federal regulations.
  • Works with employees and managers to coordinate employee accommodations, including the interactive process and integration with leave programs.
  • Processes all requests for leaves of absence, including educating employees of the process, monitoring the status, following up as appropriate, and completing and processing appropriate documentation.
  • Administers the Company's Workers' Compensation program; handles Worker's Compensation claims and ongoing case management including audits, and inquiries resulting from injuries/illnesses in the workplace; and facilitates ergonomic evaluations and implementation of appropriate corrective actions.
  • Assists in preparing documentation and reports in representing the company in legal matters,
  • workers' compensation claims, unemployment insurance claims and Human Resources compliance related issues
  • Runs standard reports and creates ad hoc reports as needed

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years' experience in benefits and retirement administration
  • 3-5 years' experience managing Leave of Absence (LOA), ergonomics, and Workers' Compensation
  • International experience highly desirable
  • Project management skills, initiative, accountability, analytical and strong sense of urgency
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office and HR systems
  • Benefit system/software experience
  • Working knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, affecting employee benefits programs, including the ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, OBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and external stakeholders
  • Must be able to maintain highly confidential and proprietary information
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly assimilate technical information, understand pSemi business, and competitors
  • Strong customer service with an ability to work with people at all levels of the organization
  • Must be able to travel up to 5% as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Global/International benefits experience
  • Must work well independently and as part of a team to build effective internal and external relationships
  • Ceridian Dayforce Benefits software
  • Vendor software (e.g., Fidelity, IGOE, Cigna, Kaiser, HSA Bank, etc.)

Education Requirements

  • BA/BS in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field strongly preferred

USD: 110,575.99 - 143,756.75 per year
