Job Description

This position is accountable for obtaining raw materials and services at the least total cost with guidelines set by division, corporate and local plant directives. This position is accountable for the implementation and control of the procurement of raw materials, packaging labels and supply items at a competitive price in the proper quantity and desired quality in a timely manner to ensure production flow remains uninterrupted.

Additional Information:

Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans.

Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and business relationships.

  • Responsible for purchases to maintain responsiveness to production requirements and to obtain best possible quality and price.
  • Issue purchase orders for all raw materials, plant supplies, and purchased finished goods at the plant, which includes confirmation of orders.
  • Meets with representatives to keep informed of changes in the market and raw materials available.
  • Approve all raw materials and finished goods purchase orders.
  • Manage finished goods inventories at all locations to meet or exceed service goals and ensure proper safety stock levels and inventory control.
  • Process all vendor returns.
  • Maintain vendor files as it relates to Purchase Orders and requisitions at the site, including information in the computer databases.
  • Monitor vendor performance data and sub-standards to bring about corrective action.
  • Schedule and plan deliveries.
  • Disposition and control of obsolete and surplus materials.
  • Develop cost-savings initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must have a bachelor's degree or higher or have at least four (4) years of work experience in a Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations role
  • Must have at least three (3) years of work experience in a Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have prior work experience using MRP (Material Resource Planning) and MPS (Material Production Scheduling) systems
  • Have at least one (1) year experience working in a manufacturing or distribution facility
