Position Summary 
Reporting to the Dean of the School of Professional and Continuing Studies, the 
Program Director is responsible for leadership and the overall management of the 
M.S. in Physician Associate (PA) Studies program.  
 
This inaugural Program Director is an architect of the PA program curriculum, 
faculty, and supporting program facilities. In addition, the Program Director will 
build a sustainable program grounded in evidence-based medicine and best 
practices for clinical care to support the healthcare needs of the 
Bronx and Westchester County. 
 
They are responsible for ensuring an educational experience for the MSPAS 
students of the highest caliber, cost and time-efficient delivery of the program 
offerings, and compliance with accreditation standards and institutional policies 
and procedures.  
 
The position requires that the individual is qualified to teach, act as a subject 
matter expert (SME) for the university, and engage in active clinical scholarship 
and practice.  
 
Essential Functions 
Provides strategic and operational leadership to the program to assure 
quality and efficiency. 
Supervises the creation, implementation, and assessment of the 
curriculum according to best practices, institutional, and accreditation 
requirements. 
Ensures compliance with accreditation ARC-PA Standards and that the PA 
program meets its accreditation benchmarks on the designated timeline. 
Oversees the hiring of inaugural principal and associated faculty and staff, 
evaluates their performance, and supports their ongoing professional 
growth and development. 
Plans and manages program budget and fiscal resources, as well as 
faculty and staff workload 
Contributes to advancing Fordham’s Jesuit mission and strategic plan.

Management Responsibilities 
Supervises the work of other Fordham employees who are individual 
contributors. Responsible for hiring, training and developing, managing 
performance and administering corrective action. Has significant input in 
compensation decisions. 
 
Additional Functions 
Engages in PA clinical practice for an FTE of 10-20% to keep their clinical 
skills up to date. 
May deliver classroom and/or laboratory instruction. 
Serves on the School Council and University committees as requested. 
Represents the MSPA program in academic governance. 
Actively pursues continuing education activities as required for maintaining 
professional qualifications 
 
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
Must be a Physician Associate in the state of New York (or willing to obtain 
a NY license) and hold current NCCPA certification status. 
Master’s Degree 
Minimum of five years of full-time higher education experience at the time 
of appointment. 
 
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills 
A strong track record of scholarship and/or professional service. 
Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to 
the goals of Jesuit Education. 
 
Preferred Qualifications 
Ph.D. in Health Science or a related field 
 
Minimum Starting Salary: $125,000 
 
Maximum Starting Salary: $165,000 
 
Note: Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
