Editorial Assistant (Part-Time: Temporary)

Job Description

The editorial assistant will strengthen Nebraska Quarterly, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Alumni Association’s magazine, by providing a range of important supporting tasks. These include, but are not limited to, content creation, story ideation and administrative support.

75% – Assist the NAA’s senior publications director with content creation and production of Nebraska Quarterly magazine. Including writing original stories for the magazine, compiling/fact checking submitted information, proofreading pages.
20% – E-mail communication – Corresponding with alumni readers for contest entries, info submission, and records maintenance.
5% – Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing or related field plus one year of experience in deadline-based writing. Excellent spelling, grammar, organizational and communications skills necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on deadline in a news organization.


Posted Salary $18.00/hr minimum
