EMS Program Instructor Aide (Part-Time)
Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
At a minimum, the essential functions of the Instructor Aide are:
- Assist in setting up and breaking down equipment, materials, and supplies for lectures, labs, and simulations.
- Assist in providing hands-on support to students during practical skills training, including monitoring and guiding their practice under the supervision of the instructor.
- Assign, direct, and evaluate lab exercises for students and classroom instructors.
- Plan, organize, and assist in the instruction of course in the day, evening, or on weekends on any Northwest Shoals Community College campus as assigned.
- Conduct and maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and instructional materials.
- Keep active at a high level of expertise in the subjects taught and stimulate enthusiasm for those subjects.
- Recommend textbooks and other instructional materials including classroom and laboratory equipment to instructor.
- Keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers and other work.
- Assist with registration, recruitment, and retention of students.
- Submit required reports to the appropriate administrative personnel.
- Keep informed of current trends and new approaches to instruction via professional development activities.
- Become thoroughly familiar with all college policies and procedures and comply with all college polices and procedures.
- Participate in program and curriculum review and development.
- Maintain accurate and complete scholastic records.
Qualifications
- NREMT Paramedic Certification, required.
- Minimum of two (2) years full-time work experience as a practitioner in the EMS field, required.
- Teaching experience at the postsecondary level in the EMS field, preferred.

Hourly Rate: $27.50 (19 hours or less per week with NO BENEFITS)
