Duties include:
- Adhere to departmental course guidelines and ensure that content covers approved competencies.
- Facilitate the learning process by designing and implementing appropriate, meaningful instructional activities.
- Provide instruction in multiple biological science areas, including Anatomy and Physiology.
- Request supplies and materials for courses and recommend appropriate equipment or technology.
- Maintain, review, and update course content, learning outcomes, and course syllabi.
- Follow required lab regulations, including chemical inventory management.
- Maintain required college records including (but not limited to) attendance, grades, and learning outcomes.
- Evaluate student performance and learning outcomes using methods appropriate to the courses.
- Collaborate with faculty in periodic program reviews.
- Participate in data gathering, interpretation, and evaluation activities.
- Assist advisees and maintain proficiency in program completion requirements.
- Advise in the MAPS center during registration periods.
- Adhere to all institutional policies and procedures.
- Serve on College committees and task forces as assigned.
- Attend required campus events including graduation, professional development, & employee meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Master’s degree in biology or related field demonstrating coursework completion in Anatomy and Physiology.
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:
- Teaching and administrative experience leading to this level of responsibility
- Demonstration of skills in the area of communication, organization, and managing multiple priorities
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, community groups and others
- Demonstrated ability to work within a collaborative team environment
- Display respect for social, cultural, spiritual, and intellectual diversity
- Must have at least minimal skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or similar applications
- Experience with a distance learning platform
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:
Most work is carried out in a standard heated and air-conditioned environment in a public area. Some evening and weekend work is required. Limited travel within the service area.
