Job Description
Red Crow Community College is a First Nations college with locations in Standoff and Lethbridge. Our mission is to meet the cultural, educational, and training needs for Kainaiwa and beyond. The college provides leadership through its programs and service to nurture self-realization based on Kainayssinni. We are currently seeking Early Childhood Educators to work as part of the Niitsitapi Day Care program that reports to the Day Care Manager. The Educators facilitate children's activities to develop their intellectual, physical and emotional growth through a safe environment. The educators ensure efficient daily operations of the Day Care by liaising with students, team members, elders and the Department Manager.

The Educators will perform various daily functions by following the approved day care curriculum. This includes but is not limited to planning, coordinating, documenting observations and encouraging stimulating recreational children activities. In addition, lead interpersonal activities such as, reading stories, teaching songs and encouraging creativity through various methods. Educators must comply with Canadian food guidelines, submit daily checklists and maintain a clean playroom. The incumbent must deliver services with respect and understanding of Blackfoot culture by participating in activities that promote Kainayssinni.
An early learning childcare certificate or diploma are required. Must possess knowledge of Alberta childcare regulations and health and safety standards. A working knowledge of the Blackfoot language and an understanding of First Nations culture is an asset. All employees are required to complete sensitivity training on Blackfoot culture.
