The faculty members will participate in all aspects of instruction, education, and training of future Respiratory Therapists. The faculty member’s primary focus will be to manage the daily operations of the respiratory lab including scheduling of students and other lab faculty, and planning, organizing, and teaching activities in the lab setting. The faculty member will work closely with the program director to ensure that accreditation standards and curriculum standards are met.

Master’s degree; valid RRT Credential, valid Maryland Respiratory Care license, Minimum of three years’ experience as a Respiratory Care Therapist of which at least two years have been spent in clinical respiratory care. Teaching experience and/or clinical preceptor experience preferred.

1. Assure assigned lectures are current and contain active teaching techniques,
2. Participate in program and School of Health Professions committees as assigned
3. Participates in review of program and courses,
4. Participates in School of Health Professions activities such as New Student Orientation and Interdisciplinary activities.  

1. Maintain an organized laboratory environment conducive to learning,
2. Develop objectives for lab learning activities and/or simulated patient scenarios to meet the program objectives.
3. Assess skills competency of students.
4. Maintain scheduled availability to students
5. Perform other teaching assignments as assigned by the Program Director
6. Develop an individual professional development plan.
7. Participate with other faculty in developing and managing online and face-to- face courses, curricula, and academic policy.
8. Actively promote the Respiratory Care Therapist Program and contribute to the college's success.
