How you will make an impact
The Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis leads the FP&A operation to support Halozyme's Device Manufacturing, Product Development, and Quality Function, including end-to-end FP&A support and oversight of device product revenue and cost forecast. This critical position assists Halozyme's growing Financial Planning and Analysis function and maintains a high level of interaction with senior and executive leadership.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Drive build-out of Technology Operation FP&A function and capabilities including:
- Lead monthly reporting, quarterly forecast, annual budget and long-range planning efforts for device product revenue, gross margin, and functional expense management.
- Publish key financial and business metrics, monitor performance, and provide management with insights into key drivers of business performance, identifying risks and opportunities for the gross margin of all device and commercial products.
- Cultivate and maintain partnerships with Device Manufacturing, Product Development and Quality leadership team in preparation for board materials, presentations and quarterly guidance.
- Work closely with Product Development and Project Management team to support development program tracking.
- Develop complex financial models and analytical tools to help make responsible financial and business decisions.
- Nurture detailed knowledge of financial forecasts and long-range planning to provide input into the organization's broader strategic risk-taking decision.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic initiatives, including developing complex financial and decision-making models to provide meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
- As a key member of the Finance team, build the process to support the company's current and future business requirements. Use systems solutions to streamline reporting and automate internal processes.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field with at least 8 years' experience in an accounting or finance role (an equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered)
- Minimum five years' FP&A experience in similar role and two years' experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
- High proficiency in Excel (including the ability to perform pivot tables, VLOOKUP and high-level functions, formulas, and modeling techniques) and PowerPoint.
- Detailed understanding and experience forecasting all financial documents (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows)
- Previous Adaptive Insights experience a plus

The most likely base pay range for this position is $120K to $180L annually. Several factors, such as experience, tenure, skills, and particular business needs, will determine an individual's exact level of compensation. Base salary is only one element of employee compensation at Halozyme. Total compensation could include bonuses, sales incentives, and equity awards.
