Job Summary

 The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Neurology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor invites applications for a faculty appointment (open rank, clinical track).

This position will be a primarily clinical appointment with opportunities available to engage in program development, quality improvement, scholarly activity and teaching that align with the overall objectives and activities of the Division of Pediatric Neurology, Department of Pediatrics and Michigan Medicine.

The Pediatric Neurology Division at Mott Children's Hospital provides comprehensive diagnostic services and treatment for children with neurologic disorders. The Division currently includes 26 faculty members with diverse clinical and scholarly interests who provide inpatient care at Mott Children's Hospital and outpatient care in a variety of venues, including outreach clinics and virtual care. Mott Children's Hospital has 26 PICU, 20 Cardiothoracic ICU, 59 NICU, and 128 general care beds.  We have an inpatient epilepsy monitoring service run separately from the consultation services. The Division is supported by eight nurse practitioners, three ketogenic dieticians, an epilepsy care coordinator, an epilepsy surgery coordinator, nurses, and social workers. Our research assistants support both multi-center and local clinical research studies. The University of Michigan provides outstanding environments for clinical care, for student and resident education, and for translational, health services, and basic research.

 

Required Qualifications*

Candidates must have MD or DO degrees, be board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology with special qualification in Child Neurology and hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the State of Michigan. Our preferred sub-specialty applicants will be engaged in or have completed appropriate sub-specialty fellowships or have had at least three years of clinical practice in these sub-specialties. 

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

This position is posted as Clinical Instructor/Clinical Assistant Professor/Clinical Associate Professor/Clinical Professor. Rank of the selected candidate is dependent upon qualifications. 

Research funding will be taken into consideration while determining clinical effort.
