Job Summary
The University of Michigan Injury Prevention Center (UMIPC) is seeking a candidate with outstanding research administration and data management activities, under the direction of the managing director, and center faculty. The University of Michigan Injury Prevention Center in the Emergency Medicine Department is one of eleven CDC-funded Injury Control Research Centers nationally, that conducts, translates, and accelerates injury prevention research into practice and policy to reduce the burden of injuries across the Great Lakes and US. The center carries out research, training, and outreach activities, in collaboration with other research units at the University, as well as external injury prevention organizations, such as the state health department.

The Research Area Specialist Senior will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team at every stage of Center research projects. The candidate should have a general understanding of academic research, basic elements of research administration (e.g., research ethics; acquiring IRB approvals) and have a strong desire to learn about the injury prevention discipline.

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
