The Jack Henry POWER Systems Team consists of 8 highly skilled professionals that are knowledgeable in IBM POWER Systems, Virtual I/O Server, AIX and IBMi. We value innovation, problem-solving and teamwork, supporting each members growth in challenging projects. Out North Star is to provide Jack Henry users with the required IBM POWER Systems technology solution to support Jack Henry Core and Complimentary Application for customers. The intern will work gain knowledge with IBM POWER Systems infrastructure and Virtualization technologies to support IBM AIX and IBMi partitions in an Enterprise environment. This will also allow the intern to work with experience team members to learn about new hardware and Operating Systems that they may not have experienced before.

Duration: June 2 - August 8, 2025
Location: Monett, Springfield, Lenexa, Remote
Pay: $25.00/hour

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Analyzing and interpreting data to support key business decisions across banking, sales, finance, and marketing.
  • Developing and maintaining data visualizations and dashboards using tools like Tableau, Excel or POWERBI
  • Applying scripting skills for IT automation to solve real-world business problems and improve processes.
  • Collaborating with team members and internal stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and high-quality results.
  • Exploring and contributing to projects involving advanced technologies such as POWER Systems, Virtual I/O Server, AIX and IBMi.

What you'll need to have:

  • Enrolled at an accredited university.
  • Academic experience with IBM POWER Systems, VIOS, AIX or IBMi
  • Pursuing a degree in one of the following:
    • Information Technology
    • Computer Science
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week throughout the duration of the internship program (June 2- August 8, 2025).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without the need for sponsorship from Jack Henry.

What would be nice for you to have:

  • Academic or working experience with
    • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 applications for documenting, communication and sharing.
    • Knowledge of automation scripting for existing processes
    • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecyle
    • Familiarity with Cloud Infrastructure Technologies
  • A basic understanding of
    • Server Virtualization and Terminology
    • Firewall Security and Terminology
    • Networking routing and addressing
    • External Storage Technologies
    • Process documenting and Process Improvement.
  1. Database management and querying techniques.
  • A passion and excitement for cross-collaboration and group work.
  • Anything else that would be valuable for an intern to have.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
    • Excellent communication skills for presenting data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Adaptability and eagerness to learn new tools and technologies.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
