Posting Summary
Rutgers, The Statue University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for NJMS- Pharmacology. This position is under the direction of the PI, conducts research investigating physiological regulatory mechanisms of mechanically activated Piezo ion channels.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Participates in experimental design and carries out experiments including animal surgeries.
  • Operates and maintains experimental equipment; performs electrophysiology experiments studying mechanically activated ion channels.
  • Records and analyzes data from experiments.
  • Assists Principal Investigator in data processing.
  • Maintains a proper data notebook pursuant to the standards of the Department and the PI.
  • Contributes to the intellectual development of the project.
  • Contributes to the writing of manuscript

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Candidate must hold a Ph.D.

Certifications/Licenses

 
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong background and experience in patch clamp electrophysiology, and molecular biology.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be able to work independently

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in studying mechanically-activated ion channels is desirable.
